FAQ on ticketing, access control and cashless Everything you want to know.

Fees, offline operation, data storage, go-live: the eleven most frequently asked questions, answered in concrete terms.

  • tickee charges purely per transaction: no setup costs, no base fee, no hidden charges. You only pay when you sell. In the ticket shop, a system fee applies to each ticket sold. By default it is added to the ticket price and paid by the buyer, so the shop costs you nothing as the organiser. All payment costs are included in the system fee, even those of the most expensive payment method. Free tickets and manually created tickets remain free of charge.

You rent scanners and POS kits per event as needed. For cashless you pay a base fee that is staggered by the number of guests, plus the hardware you actually need, and a transaction fee on top-ups that covers all bank and payment provider costs.

In the price calculator you enter the number of tickets, the average price and the devices and see an estimate straight away. We work out the binding rate for your event transparently in the initial consultation.

  • From a small community event with 50 attendees to a major festival with 50,000+. The system scales with you: you start small and never have to switch platforms.

  • Sales keep running. This is exactly why the terminals also book without a connection: the balance is stored on the NFC chip of the wristband or card, not only in a database. The terminal reads the chip, deducts the amount and writes the new balance back; a booking takes less than two seconds. Every booking is also logged on the device with a timestamp and device ID. As soon as the network is back, everything syncs automatically, and the order makes no difference to the settlement. This applies to each terminal individually, so a dead spot at one stand does not affect the others.

Only two things need a connection: online top-ups by card or PayPal, because the payment has to be authorised, and the live figures in the dashboard, which catch up as soon as the terminals send again.

  • Exclusively on servers in Germany, in compliance with the GDPR. Your attendee data belongs to you; we do not market it or pass it on.

  • Credit card, PayPal, SEPA direct debit, instant bank transfer, Apple Pay and Google Pay. With the cashless system, guests top up their balance online or directly on site.

  • Yes, fully white-label: your logo, your colours, your domain. If you like, you can embed the shop directly into your existing website.

  • Yes, if you use tickee as your primary ticketing provider and sell more than 500 tickets a year. The event app appears with your event's name, icon and design on the App Store and Google Play and is free for good. Your guests find the programme, tickets, cashless balance, site map and push notifications in it. You manage the content yourself in the Organiser.

  • Usually within 24 to 48 hours of the initial consultation. Your ticket shop itself is set up in about 30 minutes. For access control we deliver the rental scanners preconfigured, your team is briefed in about five minutes, and at side entrances the scanning app also runs on your own smartphones. Only cashless with your own NFC wristbands needs more lead time: it takes a good three weeks from enquiry to delivery of the wristbands, around twelve working days from design approval. So plan about four weeks for an event with cashless; for ticketing alone a few days are enough.

  • You can reach a real person 24/7: no ticket systems, no hold queues. For larger events we can be there on site if you wish.

  • Yes. Bookings in the cashless system are secured by a technical security device (TSE) in accordance with the German Cash Register Security Ordinance (KassenSichV). The TSE clients are included in the cashless base fee, so you do not need to buy anything separately.

  • Nothing. The initial consultation is free and without obligation; you do not enter into a contract. In about 30 minutes we show you the system live, by video or phone, and work through the numbers for your event.
